“These are the poems of a kaleidoscope kid, shuffling through tastes, rhymes and moods. Avalon allows us to peek through her “cage of dreams” into the playful pageantry of her maturing mind. She alternates between airy and arresting, between marshmallow clouds and poetic pirouettes, between a child and an adolescent.”
